The Venice International Performance Art Week comes to its third edition. The focus of this year’s edition is the body as primary material of artistic expression.

The event, which is dedicated exclusively to performance, happens between December 10^th and December 17th and presents works by more than 80 artists from different generations.

The project consists of an exhibition that features performance installations, photographic and video documentation as well as a program of live performances, talks, screenings and meetings with the participating artists, researchers and curators. The artist Marina Abramović (Belgrado, 1946) participates in the show with two videos Lips of Thomas, 1975/2005 and Cleaning the Mirror II. The works presented share a reflection on the body as material of artistic expression and its possibilities in the language of performance.
