Armenian audiences will have the opportunity to appreciate for the first time during the STANDART Trienalle of Contemporary Art the striking work of Gaspar Gasparian (São Paulo, 1899-1966), key exponent of Brazilian modern photography and founder of the Escola Paulista de Fotografia of Armenian origin .
The show, entitled Distant Fragments and curated by Ruben Arevshatyan, aims to present for the first time in the Armenian capital a comprehensive retrospective of Gaspar Gasparian's work by exhibiting photographs produced between the 1940s and 1960s. The STANDART Trienalle of Contemporary Art, the event hosting Gasparian's exhibition, has as its goal to promote Armenia's rich historical and cultural context.
