In his work, Bosco Sodi favors the simplicity of natural materials such as pigments, sawdust, fibers, wood, and earth, while also mobilizing Latin American values and traditions. This approach is evident in Untitled (2022), where the combination of these elements, together with the artist’s striking gesture, gives the piece a singular character. The sculptures from the series Untitled (2024), in turn, were created for the reopening of Museu Casa das Rosas in 2024. Molded by hand, the works deliberately embrace the imperfections of gesture and of the drying and firing processes. In both series, clay is used to symbolize resistance and the endurance of ancestral knowledge.
