Héctor Zamora

Héctor Zamora is internationally recognized for a body of research that problematizes issues related to social patterns, as well as aesthetic and archetypal legacies, often drawing from traditional aspects tied to the historical weight of Western cultures. The work Preto [Black], for instance, unfolds from a recurring and well-known line of investigation by the Mexican artist, based on cobogó-style hollow bricks arranged on the wall. These elements, common in Latin American popular architecture, operate as a metaphor to question capitalist construction systems and labor forces, and how they are intrinsically linked to the foundations of Latin society.
